Job Summary

The CCTV Operative is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining all surveillance equipment within the premises. The role involves ensuring the safety and security of company property, staff, and customers by observing and reporting suspicious activities, recording incidents, and supporting investigations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and operate CCTV systems and related security equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Observe and report any suspicious or criminal activity to the Security Supervisor or relevant authorities.
Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and maintenance issues.
Ensure all cameras and recording systems are functioning properly and report faults immediately.
Retrieve and review recorded footage for investigation or evidence purposes when required.
Maintain confidentiality and handle all recordings and data with integrity and discretion.
Assist in coordinating responses to security incidents and emergencies.
Liaise with law enforcement agencies or management when required.
Participate in routine checks, audits, and training sessions.
Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws (where applicable).

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field.
Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar security role is an advantage.
Familiarity with digital and network-based surveillance systems.
Good understanding of security protocols and incident reporting.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based in a secure control room.
Shift work may be required, including weekends and public holidays.
Must remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
