Business Development Officer

Summary

• We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Officer to drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and business expansion for Grocery Box.
• The role involves generating and converting leads, developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and driving sales across online and offline channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and acquire new customers through direct sales, referrals, field activities and other channels.
• Generate, manage and convert sales leads into paying customers.
• Drive sales of Grocery Box products across online and offline channels.
• Identify and secure corporate, wholesale and bulk-order customers.
• Build strong relationships with existing customers and drive repeat purchases.
• Identify new markets, locations and customer segments.
• Conduct market visits to monitor customer needs, competitor activities and pricing.
• Follow up on leads, quotations and prospective customers to ensure conversion.
• Negotiate with customers within approved pricing and commercial guidelines.
• Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure smooth customer fulfilment.
• Gather customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve sales.
• Prepare regular sales reports covering revenue, leads, conversions and pipeline.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently pursue new business opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Requirements

• B.Sc ./ HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 2– 3 years of proven sales/business development experience in FMCG, retail, distribution or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of FMCG sales and distribution channels.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong customer acquisition and conversion skills.
• Target-driven with a strong commercial mindset.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and sales reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently, meet targets and deliver results.
• Experience in e-commerce, online retail or grocery sales is an added advantage.
