Civil Engineer

Job Summary

• Roxbury Leisure Homes is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Site Civil Engineer to supervise and coordinate civil engineering and building construction activities.
• The successful candidate will ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved specifications and quality standards.

Job Description

• The Site Civil Engineer will oversee day-to-day construction operations, manage contractors and site personnel, monitor project progress, maintain quality control, and ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory regulations, and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all civil engineering and construction activities on site.
• Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Monitor construction quality and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Review and verify contractors' work before approval.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost control.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical recommendations.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Excellent site supervision and project management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other engineering software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng./B.Tech.) or HND in Civil Engineering.
• COREN registration or NSE membership is an added advantage.

Experience

• 3–5 years' relevant experience as a Site Civil Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects.
• Practical knowledge of structural, concrete, drainage, roadworks, and finishing works.
• 3–5 years' relevant site engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian building codes and construction standards.
• Ability to manage contractors and multiple site activities effectively.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be willing to work on-site.
