Head of Finance

Job Summary

• The Head of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all financial aspects of the organization, including planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, local laws, and NGO best practices
• Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director, Board, and donors
• Manage grant finances and reporting for multiple grants
• Lead and supervise a finance/admin team of 3–5 staff
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial integrity
• Develop financial policies and procedures
• Conduct internal audits and manage financial risks

Requirments

• Candidates should possess a BSc in Finance or Accounting
• ICAN certification required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management
• At least 3 years’ experience in NGO accounting
• Strong knowledge of NGO accounting, donor requirements, and financial regulations
• Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks or SAP
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience working with international donors (USAID, EU, UN)
• Familiarity with financial planning and budgeting tools
• Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations
