Senior Manager, Business Development (Abuja)

The Role

• We are hiring a Senior Manager, Business Development to drive strategic growth initiatives across the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on government engagements, enterprise partnerships, and integrated payment solutions.
• This role will lead business development efforts, manage high-value stakeholder relationships, and drive revenue growth through the acquisition and expansion of strategic accounts.
• The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of payments, collections, and digital financial solutions. You will engage with senior stakeholders including government officials, banking executives, and corporate leaders while working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and Finance teams to design and deliver tailored solutions that create measurable value for customers and the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Flutterwave’s business development strategy to accelerate growth across public sector and enterprise segments
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including governors, ministers, commissioners, regulators, banking executives, and corporate leaders
• Identify, qualify, and convert strategic business opportunities that drive revenue growth and market expansion
• Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from opportunity identification and solution design through negotiation, contracting, and implementation
• Drive adoption of Flutterwave’s payment and collection solutions across government institutions and large enterprises
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design tailored solutions that address customer requirements
• Develop compelling business cases, proposals, presentations, and executive briefs for prospective clients and internal stakeholders
• Manage and advance a pipeline of strategic opportunities while ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new growth opportunities
• Represent Flutterwave at executive meetings, industry forums, and strategic engagements
• Drive cross-functional coordination to ensure successful implementation and delivery of customer solutions
• Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to track business development effectiveness and revenue impact
• Support public sector engagement strategies and ensure continuity across long-cycle opportunities and strategic initiatives
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to business development team members where required
• Ensure all customer and stakeholder interactions are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and Flutterwave policies

Required Competency and Skillset to be a Waver

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
• 10-12 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, consulting, banking, fintech, or related industries
• Strong understanding of digital payments, collections, and financial technology solutions
• Proven experience managing executive-level stakeholder relationships and strategic partnerships
• Demonstrated success in closing complex, high-value commercial opportunities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools
• Excellent presentation, proposal writing, and executive communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
• Experience working with public sector institutions and government stakeholders is highly desirable
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• High levels of integrity, accountability, reliability, and professional maturity
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Abuja to support strategic public sector engagements
