Marketing Officer

Job Summary

• The Marketing Officer is responsible for increasing the visibility, occupancy, and revenue of Edo Heritage Hotel by developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives.
• The role involves promoting the hotel's accommodation, restaurant, bush bar, event facilities, and other services through digital marketing, corporate sales, partnerships, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Management:

• Develop and implement monthly and annual marketing plans.
• Promote all hotel services, including rooms, restaurant, bush bar, event halls, and special packages.
• Ensure all marketing materials reflect the Edo Heritage Hotel brand.
• Coordinate seasonal promotions, festive campaigns, and special events.

Digital Marketing:

• Manage the hotel's social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X).
• Create engaging content including photos, videos, reels, and promotional campaigns.
• Update the hotel website with current offers, events, menus, and room information.
• Monitor online reviews and respond professionally to guest feedback.

Sales & Business Development:

• Identify and secure new corporate clients, travel agencies, government agencies, NGOs, schools, and event planners.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing clients.
• Develop strategies to increase conference bookings, accommodation sales, restaurant patronage, and outdoor catering opportunities.
• Conduct regular sales visits to prospective clients.

Market Research:

• Monitor competitors' pricing, promotions, and services.
• Research customer trends and identify new market opportunities.
• Recommend pricing and promotional strategies based on market intelligence.

Advertising & Promotion:

• Work with designers, photographers, and media agencies to produce marketing materials.
• Organize hotel promotional events and community engagement activities.

Performance Reporting:

• Prepare weekly and monthly marketing reports.
• Track campaign performance using key metrics such as occupancy, bookings, revenue generated, website traffic, social media engagement, and return on marketing investment.
• Recommend improvements based on campaign performance.

Customer Relationship Management:

• Maintain a database of corporate clients and repeat guests.
• Coordinate email marketing campaigns and promotional newsletters.
• Work closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Events teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Increase room occupancy.
• Increase food and beverage sales.
• Growth in corporate accounts.
• Growth in event and conference bookings.
• Social media engagement and follower growth.
• Website traffic and online inquiries.
• Marketing campaign return on investment (ROI).
• Guest review ratings and online reputation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Business Administration, or HND
• Minimum of 2 years marketing experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Professional certifications in Digital Marketing are an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong digital marketing and social media management skills.
• Graphic design and content creation experience (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) is an advantage.
• Photography and videography skills are desirable.
• Knowledge of SEO, Google Business Profile, and email marketing.
• Strong negotiation and sales skills.
• Excellent presentation and networking abilities.
• Analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
