Finance Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Officer to establish and strengthen our finance function. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with the expertise to design, implement, and manage robust financial systems, controls, and reporting processes that support organizational growth. This role is suited to someone who thrives in building efficient financial operations and driving best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain effective financial systems, policies, and internal controls.
• Develop and oversee accounting processes, financial reporting frameworks, and record-keeping systems.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Establish and continuously improve financial procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in finance or accounting, with demonstrable experience establishing or significantly improving financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
• Strong understanding of financial governance, internal controls, budgeting, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven ability to develop efficient financial processes and ensure operational excellence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and build sustainable financial processes that support organizational growth.
