Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and ensure that construction projects are completed within budget while maintaining the required quality standards.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, procurement support, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and project budgets.
- Conduct cost analysis and monitor project expenditures.
- Prepare tender and contract documents.
- Evaluate contractor quotations and negotiate project costs where necessary.
- Monitor variations and prepare valuation reports.
- Track project costs and provide regular financial updates to management.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets.
- Assess and certify contractors’ payment claims.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, builders, and project managers on project planning and execution.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years relevant experience in quantity surveying and construction cost management.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, contract administration, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and relevant quantity surveying software.
- Ability to prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and project cost reports.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Membership or registration with relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
