- We are seeking a skilled and professional Accountant to join our organisation in Benin City, Nigeria.
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting requirements
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address any financial discrepancies
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical aptitude
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Thorough understanding of Nigerian tax laws and local financial reporting requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
