BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE is looking for a qualified Power Electrical Technician to join our technical operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-voltage power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, and industrial manufacturing machinery to ensure continuous operational uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, power distribution panels, and switchgears.
- Troubleshoot complex industrial electrical failures, circuitry issues, and motor control centers (MCC) to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor site power supply stability, backup power systems, and power factor correction equipment.
- Execute wiring, electrical installations, load balancing, and equipment connections following strict safety standards.
- Perform inspections, maintenance logging routine, and detailed fault reporting for facility electrical infrastructure.
- Adhere rigidly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, high-voltage safety practices, and industrial safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Electronics, or a certified Trade Test Grade I in Electrical Work.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLD), and operating high-voltage testing instruments.
- Knowledge: Expert understanding of power distribution, three-phase systems, industrial wiring, and safety codes.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, rapid troubleshooting capability, and readiness to handle shift rotations or emergency call-outs.
