Procurement Officer - Agro Sourcing

• We are seeking proactive and experienced procurement officers with a strong background in Agro-commodity sourcing to join our growing team.
• The ideal candidates will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and managing vendors for agricultural produce such as Garri, garlic, Ginger, and related products, while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• This role requires a strong understanding of local markets, negotiation skills, and an extensive supplier network across the specified regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and engage reliable vendors and aggregators for agro-commodities such as Garri, garlic, Ginger, etc.
• Conduct regular market analysis to understand price trends, supply chain challenges, and sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure timely procurement of goods in line with company quality standards and budget.
• Negotiate favorable terms and prices with suppliers while maintaining long-term relationships.
• Manage and update supplier database for assigned territory.
• Conduct periodic visits to farms, markets, and aggregation centers to verify supplier capacity and quality.
• Coordinate with internal teams, including warehouse, logistics, finance, and quality assurance.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with procurement planning.
• Prepare weekly/monthly procurement reports, highlighting key sourcing KPIs and supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant local regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND / HND / BSc in Agriculture, Agribusiness, supply chain, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in agro-commodity sourcing or procurement within the agriculture or FMCG industry.
• Proven field experience in sourcing Garri, garlic, Ginger, or other agro-based raw materials.
• Excellent knowledge of local markets, supplier landscapes, and pricing dynamics in Ijebu-Ode, Abeokuta, Oyo, and/or Lagos.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to travel frequently within assigned region(s).
• Integrity, accountability, and a results-driven mindset.

Location-Based Advantage:

• Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to one of the following regions: Ijebu-Ode, Abeokuta, Oyo, or Lagos.
• Local market knowledge and existing vendor relationships in these areas will be a key advantage.

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 monthly.
