Company: Gafford Properties and Homes Location: OPIC House Ojodu Berger , Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: ₦150,000 per month Join Our Team Gafford Properties and Homes is looking for a passionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Entry-Level Legal Practitioner to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a recently called lawyer who is eager to build a successful career in real estate law and gain practical experience in property transactions, legal documentation, regulatory compliance, and land administration. Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on property acquisition, sales, and other real estate transactions.
- Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Deeds of Assignment, Contracts of Sale, Lease Agreements, Tenancy Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and other property-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions on property and corporate matters.
- Carry out land and property due diligence, title verification, and document authentication.
- Liaise with government agencies, land registries, and other regulatory authorities.
- Assist in processing Governor's Consent, land registration, perfection of title documents, and other statutory approvals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian property, corporate, and regulatory laws.
- Prepare legal correspondence, reports, and internal advisory documents.
- Support dispute resolution, recovery matters, and litigation processes where required.
- Advise management on legal risks, compliance obligations, and corporate governance issues.
- Maintain accurate legal records while ensuring strict confidentiality of company information.
- LL.B degree from a recognized university.
- Must have successfully completed the Nigerian Law School and possess a B.L. certificate.
- NYSC completion or valid Exemption/Discharge Certificate.
- Fresh graduate or up to 2 years post-call experience.
- Strong legal drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
