- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to support the Finance & Accounts team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of accounting principles, strong numerical skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting entries.
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Assist with the preparation and posting of journals, invoices, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.
- Reconcile bank statements, cash balances, and other financial accounts.
- Assist in monitoring accounts payable and receivable.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Monitor expenses and ensure they are properly authorized and supported by relevant documentation.
- Identify and report discrepancies or unusual transactions to the Accountant.
- Support stock and inventory reconciliation where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
