Job Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all mechanical maintenance activities within the palm oil mill. The role ensures the reliability, availability, and efficiency of all mechanical equipment while minimizing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing maintenance resources to support continuous production.

Job Details

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Allocate maintenance tasks and monitor work progress to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate daily maintenance operations to maximize equipment availability.
• Oversee the maintenance and performance of all mechanical equipment, including: Sterilizers, Threshers, Digesters, Screw Presses, Clarification Systems, Boilers (mechanical components), Turbines, Pumps, Conveyors, Gearboxes, Motors, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Valves, pipelines, and ancillary equipment
• Supervise, coach, and mentor Mechanical Technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to schedule.
• Enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
• Record equipment breakdowns, corrective actions, and maintenance history.
• Assist in preparing maintenance budgets and work plans.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in maintenance management or engineering are an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a palm oil mill, edible oil processing plant, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment. At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and palm oil processing machinery.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Palm oil mill and industrial production environment.
• Exposure to heat, steam, noise, dust, grease, and rotating machinery.
