Modern Trade Officer / Representative

Job Summary

• We are looking for a results-driven Modern Trade Officer / Representative to join our Sales & Marketing team and drive account growth, distribution, visibility and sales performance across assigned Modern Trade accounts.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounts, achieving sales and collection targets, securing new listings and ensuring strong retail execution within our FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned Modern Trade accounts and take full responsibility for their performance.
• Achieve monthly sales, distribution and collection targets.
• Secure new product listings, branches, SKUs and shelf space.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and key account stakeholders.
• Monitor stock availability, out-of-stock situations, pricing, expiry and shelf visibility.
• Execute and monitor promotions, activations and in-store activities.
• Track competitor pricing, promotions, packaging and shelf presence.
• Identify opportunities to grow slow-moving products and increase SKU penetration.
• Follow up on orders, deliveries, invoices, claims and outstanding payments.
• Prepare accurate weekly sales, SKU and account performance reports using Excel.
• Provide market intelligence and recommend practical actions to improve sales.
• Work closely with Brand Management.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics or a related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in FMCG / Modern Trade Sales.
• Proven experience managing Modern Trade accounts and achieving sales targets.
• Must have experience selling packaged FMCG products, preferably food, beverage, personal care or related products.
• Good understanding of SKU management, merchandising, packaging and retail execution.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic sales data analysis.
• Strong negotiation, communication and account-management skills.
• Strong ownership, accountability and ability to deliver measurable results.
