Back - End Developer (Experienced Candidates)

Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with strong technical skills and practical experience building, deploying, and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- The ideal candidate must have successfully developed and deployed at least one live, production-ready system.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services where required.
- Design, manage, and optimise databases using MySQL and other relevant database technologies.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and system vulnerabilities.
- Implement appropriate authentication, authorisation, and data protection measures.
- Deploy applications to production environments and provide ongoing maintenance and technical support.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product designers, and other team members to deliver functional solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, write automated tests, and follow software development best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
- Practical experience with MySQL, including database design, queries, optimisation, and management.
- Demonstrable experience developing, deploying, and maintaining live systems in a production environment.
- Good understanding of RESTful API design, integration, and documentation.
- Knowledge of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Understanding of web application security, authentication, authorisation, and data validation.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with additional backend frameworks or technologies.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, or other database and caching technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment automation.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with Linux server administration, Nginx, and application server configuration.
- Understanding of application monitoring, logging, performance tuning, and system scalability.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
- A portfolio of deployed applications or contributions to relevant software projects.
