Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & BOQ Preparation:
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for:
- New construction projects o Interior fit-out projects
- Renovation works
- Remodelling projects
- Maintenance projects
- Prepare cost estimates at concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation stages.
Programme of Works:
- Prepare detailed Programmes of Work for all projects.
Project Cost Control & Valuation:
- Carry out weekly valuation of all ongoing projects.
- Measure completed works and certify project progress
Procurement & Commercial Management:
- Prepare tender documents and procurement schedules.
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Contract Administration:
- Prepare and review subcontract agreements.
Payment Verification & Financial Control:
- Review all payment requests submitted by:
- Site Builders
- Engineers
- Project Managers
- Site Supervisors
- Vendors
- Suppliers
- Artisans
- Subcontractors
- Verify work completed before recommending payments.
Supplier & Resource Development:
- Identify and prequalify new:
- Material suppliers
- Construction product manufacturers
- Skilled artisans
- Specialist subcontractors
- Equipment vendors
Client & Commercial Engagement:
- Participate in project valuation meetings with clients and consultants.
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
Cost Optimisation & Value Engineering:
- Identify opportunities to reduce construction costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Quantity Surveying.
- Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (Graduate or Corporate Member).
- Registration with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant post-graduate experience, comprising:
- At least 2 years in a Quantity Surveying consultancy firm, with experience in cost planning, BOQ preparation, tender documentation, and contract administration.
- At least 2 years in a construction or design-build firm, with hands-on experience in project valuations, cost control, procurement, subcontractor management, and commercial administration.
- Proven experience handling residential, commercial, institutional, and interior fit-out projects.Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
Software Proficiency:
- The successful candidate should be proficient in:
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Project
- AutoCAD (drawing interpretation)
- CostX, Cubit, or similar quantity surveying software (preferred)
- Bluebeam Revu or equivalent PDF measurement software (advantage).
Salary
N350,000 per month.
