The Bank’s service offerings span retail banking, MSME financing, deposits mobilisation, digital financial services, and enterprise support solutions tailored to emerging businesses and growing enterprises. The Bank is currently focused on strengthening its operational structure, expanding its MSME portfolio, deepening retail penetration, and leveraging technology to deliver efficient and scalable financial services. Job Purpose To provide legal advisory support to the Bank, ensure sound legal documentation and contract management, and lead the recovery of delinquent and non-performing loans in line with applicable laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for managing the Bank’s legal risk exposures, supporting enforceability of credit and commercial documentation, and driving effective recovery strategies to improve portfolio quality. Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory support on the Bank’s operations, products, transactions, and contractual obligations.
• Review, draft, and vet contracts, agreements, legal notices, and other legal documentation.
• Ensure adequacy and enforceability of loan, collateral, and security documentation.
• Manage the Bank’s debt recovery strategy to reduce delinquent and non-performing loans.
• Monitor and manage the non-performing loan portfolio and drive timely recovery actions.
• Engage defaulting borrowers and negotiate repayment arrangements, restructurings, and settlements where appropriate.
• Coordinate legal recovery actions, including litigation, collateral realization, and asset repossession where necessary.
• Liaise with external solicitors, law enforcement agencies, courts, and relevant third parties on legal and recovery matters.
• Provide legal support to Credit, Loan Administration, and Management on recovery and enforcement matters.
• Prepare periodic reports on litigation, recovery performance, and delinquency trends for Management and the Board.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise Management on legal implications.
• Maintain proper legal documentation, case records, and recovery files.

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B and BL) is required.
• Minimum of 7–10 years’ relevant experience in legal practice, debt recovery, credit recovery, or banking legal services.
• A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
• Experience in loan recovery, litigation, collateral documentation, and contract management.
• Strong knowledge of banking laws, debt recovery processes, and secured lending documentation.
• Experience in financial services or banking will be a strong advantage.
