About the role
- To lead the health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) function, protecting patients, staff, visitors and the environment through effective HSSE systems, risk management and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the HSSE management system across the hospital.
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments, inspections and audits.
- Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures and training.
- Lead incident prevention, investigation and reporting.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, security and environmental management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSSE regulations and standards.
- Supervise and develop HSSE staff.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or HND in a relevant discipline (e.g. environmental/health sciences, safety, engineering or sciences).
- Completion of NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
Experience:
- Substantial experience in HSSE, including a senior or supervisory element. Experience in risk assessment, incident management and HSSE systems. Experience in a healthcare, industrial or institutional HSSE environment.
Required skills:
- Strong knowledge of HSSE management, risk and compliance.
- Ability to lead HSSE systems, audits and training.Incident investigation and emergency-preparedness skills.
- Ability to supervise staff.Effective communication and influence.
