Fleet Supervisor

Job Summary

  • The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy.
  • The role involves supervising drivers, coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance, monitoring vehicle usage, and ensuring compliance with all applicable transportation, safety, and operational regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring their optimal deployment, availability, and operational performance.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet reliability.
  • Monitor and record fuel consumption, mileage, vehicle utilization, and overall performance using fleet management systems or appropriate operational logs.
  • Assign vehicles and drivers to authorized jobs, monitor trip progress, and ensure timely completion of deliveries and assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable transportation laws, regulatory requirements, vehicle licensing, insurance, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fleet operations, including driver logs, vehicle documentation, maintenance records, fuel usage, and incident reports.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure that all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, properly equipped, and fit for operation.
  • Monitor driver performance and conduct, provide necessary guidance and training, and ensure adherence to company driving and safety standards.
  • Liaise with approved vendors, mechanics, workshops, and other service providers to coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
  • Investigate and document vehicle-related incidents and accidents, coordinate insurance claims where applicable, and recommend appropriate disciplinary or corrective actions for vehicle misuse, negligence, or non-compliance

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in fleet or transport operations.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, road safety, and transport regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management software/tools.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
