Graduate Trainee Banking Officers (Nationwide)

Job Description

• We are seeking ambitious, intelligent, and customer-focused Graduate Trainee Banking Officers to join our banking team.
• The successful candidates will undergo structured training and practical exposure across various banking functions, including customer service, operations, relationship management, sales, account opening, financial products, and compliance.
• This opportunity is designed for recent graduates who are interested in developing a long-term career in the banking and financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively in structured classroom, practical, and on-the-job training programs.
• Gain practical exposure to retail banking, branch operations, customer service, and business development.
• Assist with customer account opening, documentation, and account maintenance.
• Attend to customer enquiries and provide accurate information on banking products and services.
• Support the marketing and sale of banking products, including savings accounts, current accounts, loans, cards, digital banking products, and investment solutions.
• Assist Relationship Officers and Business Development teams with customer acquisition and relationship management.
• Identify prospective customers and support lead-generation and business-development activities.
• Support branch teams in achieving customer acquisition, deposit, loan, and other assigned business targets.
• Process banking transactions and documentation in accordance with approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate customer records and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with customer onboarding and verification processes.
• Develop an understanding of banking policies, procedures, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Observe and comply with KYC, AML, CFT, data protection, and other applicable banking requirements.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of assigned activities.
• Participate in team meetings, workshops, assessments, and performance reviews.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Build strong professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Take on additional responsibilities and assignments as required during the training period.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or HND in any discipline.
• 1–2 years of post-graduation experience.
• Must demonstrate strong interest in building a career in banking and financial services.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good customer-service orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong ethical standards and professional conduct.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
