Account Officer / Cashier

Job Summary

• We are looking for a trustworthy and organized Cashier / Accounts Assistant to handle daily cash transactions, keep accurate records, assist with banking, and maintain basic inventory records.
• The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling cash, balancing daily transactions, keeping proper records, and ensuring that all financial activities are accurately documented.
• Candidates with a background in Accounting, Finance, or related fields, as well as candidates with good cashier or cash-handling experience, are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Cash Handling:

• Receive and disburse cash as required.
• Count and balance cash at the end of each day.
• Keep accurate records of all cash received and spent.
• Report any cash shortages or discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure all cash transactions are properly recorded and supported with receipts or other documents.

Banking:

• Take cash and other financial instruments to the bank when required.
• Keep records of bank deposits and related documents.
• Assist with basic cash and bank reconciliation.

Record Keeping:

• Record daily cash transactions accurately.
• Maintain organized records of receipts, payments, and other financial documents.
• Assist with basic calculations and financial records.
• Keep all financial information properly filed and confidential.

Inventory:

• Keep records of stock received and issued.
• Monitor available stock and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Assist with periodic stock counting and record updates.

General Support:

• Assist with other basic accounting and administrative duties when required.
• Provide management with accurate cash, stock, and transaction information.
• Ensure all assigned duties are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements & Qualifications

• OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
• Candidates with relevant cashier, cash-handling, or record-keeping experience are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to count and balance cash accurately.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and record keeping.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good numerical and calculation skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Honest, trustworthy, and responsible when handling cash.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous experience as a Cashier, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Clerk, or similar role is an advantage.
• Additional Requirement: May be required to work on Mondays when necessary.

Salary
N80,000 Monthly
