- The Electrical Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within the polythene manufacturing plant.
- The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on manufacturing equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Perform corrective maintenance on motors, control panels, drives, sensors, and other electrical components.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
Maintain electrical systems of polythene production machines, including:
- Blown film extrusion machines.
- Printing machines.
- Bag - making machines.
- Recycling machines.
- Cooling systems and chillers.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical control panels and automation systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of PLCs, VFDs, contactors, relays, and circuit breakers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- HND / B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years' experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, and motor control systems.
- Experience working with extrusion, printing, or packaging machinery is an added advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
