IT Governance Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and operationalize the IT Governance function across the organization.
• Review, update, and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of IT governance frameworks and controls.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure effective implementation of governance initiatives and technology systems.
• Develop and manage the organization's annual IT Governance Calendar.
• Monitor compliance with approved IT governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Coordinate periodic governance reviews, internal assessments, and compliance reporting.
• Monitor system performance and governance effectiveness, providing regular reports to executive management.
• Support the implementation of regulatory technology standards, including initiatives aligned with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) roadmap where applicable.
• Identify governance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Promote IT governance awareness and compliance culture across the organization.
• Support audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings relating to technology governance.

⁠ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT Governance, Information Security, IT Risk, IT Compliance, or Technology Audit.
• Professional certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, CISA, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CRISC, or related certifications will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, risk management, cybersecurity principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience developing IT policies, governance documentation, and operational standards.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
