Meme Curator (Remote)

Job Description

• We are seeking a creative, observant, and internet-savvy Meme Curator to help identify and curate relevant memes, internet trends, and relatable social media content that can be adapted to NOBZO’s property, lifestyle, and target audience.
• The role requires someone who understands Nigerian internet culture, youth trends, social media behaviour, and the type of content that drives engagement and shareability.
• The Meme Curator will work closely with Content Creators, Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and Social Media Managers to identify opportunities for NOBZO to participate in relevant conversations and trends while maintaining appropriate brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and other relevant platforms for emerging trends, memes, formats, and conversations.
• Identify memes and trending content that are relevant to NOBZO and its target audience.
• Recommend creative ways to adapt trending content to NOBZO’s property, lifestyle, and brand context.
• Maintain and organise a meme and content bank using Google Drive or other approved platforms.
• Collaborate with Content Creators, Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and Social Media Managers on approved content concepts.
• Monitor emerging internet culture and identify opportunities for timely and relevant content.
• Ensure sourced content is appropriate for NOBZO and does not create unnecessary reputational or brand risks.
• Avoid inappropriate, misleading, copyrighted-risk, excessively watermarked, or otherwise unsuitable content.
• Submit regular trend updates, meme recommendations, and content opportunities through approved team communication channels.
• Follow the established review and approval process for all meme and content concepts.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in social media, content creation, digital media, community management, or a related area.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian internet culture, memes, social media trends, and youth-oriented content.
• Active familiarity with platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook.
• Strong awareness of emerging trends and ability to identify them early.
• Ability to distinguish between content that is relevant and content that may create brand or reputational risk.
• Strong creative thinking and ability to translate trends into brand-relevant concepts.
• Good organisational skills and ability to maintain a structured content bank.
• Ability to work collaboratively with creative and social media teams.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Candidates with strong demonstrated social media awareness or relevant personal/portfolio experience are encouraged to apply, even without formal professional experience.
