Account Technician / Account Clerk

Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Account Technician / Account Clerk to support the finance team with routine accounting, record-keeping, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately handle financial records and transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and post daily financial transactions accurately.
- Assist with maintaining accounting records, ledgers, and financial documentation.
- Support the preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Support bank and other account reconciliations.
- Verify financial documents and ensure transactions are properly supported and authorised.
- Maintain proper filing and organisation of accounting records and supporting documents.
- Assist with data entry and updating of accounting systems and spreadsheets.
- Support the Finance team with routine month-end accounting activities.
- Assist in preparing schedules and basic financial reports as assigned.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices, payments, and other accounting-related matters when required.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial information.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Maximum of OND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years relevant work experiencein accounting, finance, or a related role.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar software is an added advantage.
- Good numerical and data-entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
