Social Media Officer

Job Summary

• We are looking to hire a Social Media Officer to manage the company's social media presence to drive brand visibility, customer engagement, social media management and sales.
• This role combines hands-on retail experience with digital content strategy, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand experience both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilties
Social Media & Digital Engagement:

• Develop and execute a social media content calendar across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn, Tik-tok and whatsapp channel.
• Create and curate engaging content — posts, reels, stories, and promotions — that reflects the organistion’s brand voice.
• Grow the company's social media following and increase engagement through targeted campaigns and community management.
• Monitor social media trends, competitor activity, and audience insights to inform content strategy.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to align online campaigns with in-store promotions and product launches.
• Respond to customer inquiries and feedback on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.

Reporting & Collaboration:

• Prepare regular reports on social media metrics, and campaign outcomes for the Head of Sales..
• Collaborate with the procurement and sales teams to support market expansion initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve the retail customer journey and digital touch points.

Key Performance Indicators

• Drive website or store traffic.
• Store profitability and operational efficiency.
• Growth in social media followers, reach, and engagement rates.
• Customer satisfaction scores and in-store experience ratings.
• Consistency and quality of social media content and campaign execution.
• Social media conversion rate.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• 2 - 4 years' experience in social media marketing and management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage retail teams and drive sales performance.
• Hands-on experience managing brand social media accounts with measurable results.
• Experience in publishing, books, education, or consumer goods retail is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong retail operations and people management skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools, and basic analytics (Meta Insights, Google Analytics, etc.).
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and brand representation skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to translate marketing activity into measurable sales results.
• Highly organized, creative, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Canva or basic design tools is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

• On-site role based in Lagos with the retail store.
• Flexibility in working hours may be required during product launches, promotional events, and trade fairs.

Salary
N250,000 - N350,000 monthly.
