Civil Engineer (Technical Sales Focus)

Job Summary
- Our client is seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to lead client engagement, business development, and technical solution support for construction and infrastructure projects. This role combines a civil engineering foundation with a strong sales and client-facing focus, requiring the ability to interpret engineering requirements, translate them into winning proposals, and guide clients toward the right technical solutions.
- The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth and win new business while acting as a trusted technical advisor, supporting project teams, contractors, and clients through the sales and delivery cycle, and ensuring solutions meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction and infrastructure sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, consultants, and other key clients.
- Conduct client meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and identify sales opportunities.
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and quotations, and follow up to convert opportunities into sales.
- Translate engineering requirements into practical, client-ready solutions during proposals and technical discussions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to clients, contractors, and project teams as needed.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline, monitor market trends and competitor activity, and consistently follow up on prospects and accounts.
- Liaise between site teams, management, and clients to ensure smooth handoff from sale to delivery.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and maintain accurate sales activity reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering.
- Professional certification or registration with COREN is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or technical/B2B sales.
- Proven experience in technical sales, client-facing engineering, or solution-based selling is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in engineering design/CAD software is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercially driven, target-oriented, and able to manage multiple client relationships under pressure.
Ideal Candidate
- A Civil Engineer who understands construction technically but is energized by selling, networking, and winning clients — this is a client-facing, revenue-driven role, not a purely site-based or design-focused one.
Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 per month.
