Assistant Head of Growth

SmallSmall Technology Ltd is building Africa's most accessible platform for housing, products and services by connecting vendors and customers through innovative technology solutions. We are looking for an ambitious, data-driven, and results-oriented professional to join our leadership team as Assistant Head of Growth .

Role Summary

The Assistant Head of Growth will support the development and execution of the company's growth strategy across all business categories on the SmallSmall platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, commercial acumen and a passion for driving acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth. The successful candidate will work closely with business unit leaders, category representatives, marketing, customer success, and executive leadership to accelerate platform adoption and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of growth strategies across all products, service, and housing categories on the SmallSmall platform.
• Drive vendor acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention and revenue expansion initiatives.
• Identify new growth opportunities through market research, data analysis, and customer insights.
• Develop and execute vendor-focused campaigns that increase platform adoption and transaction volumes.
• Assist in managing and coordinating the Growth team, including Heads of Business Units and Category Representatives.
• Set, monitor, and track onboarding, engagement, and revenue growth targets across business categories.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, collaboration, and measurable results.
• Ensure team members have the necessary tools, resources, and support to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor key growth metrics and performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and bottlenecks.
• Prepare growth reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership.
• Utilize data-driven insights to optimize acquisition, retention, and revenue generation strategies.
• Track and report on vendor onboarding performance and platform growth KPIs.
• Partner closely with Marketing to align campaigns with growth objectives.
• Collaborate with Customer Success teams to improve vendor experience and retention.
• Work with Product and Technology teams to identify and implement enhancements that support growth initiatives.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure successful execution of growth programs.
• Develop performance-based programs and incentives that encourage vendor acquisition, activation, and retention.
• Ensure vendor onboarding targets are consistently achieved and quality standards maintained.
• Champion vendor success by identifying and addressing barriers to engagement and revenue generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Growth, Business Development, Sales, Commercial Strategy, Marketplace Operations or a related role.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering measurable growth outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
• Experience working with growth metrics, sales funnels, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong project management and execution capabilities.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in technology, e-commerce, proptech, fintech, or marketplace businesses is an advantage.
