Driver

Responsibilities
As a Driver, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Maintain a high customer service focus with guests and internal customers in mind.
• Possess a positive attitude, take responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, and communicate clearly with guests and colleagues.
• Ensure the safe transportation of guests, management, team members, and hotel property as assigned.
• Assist with luggage: Load and unload guest belongings with care and efficiency.
• Operate hotel vehicles in a safe, courteous, and professional manner at all times, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Greet guests warmly, assist with luggage when required, and provide a welcoming first and last impression of the hotel.
• Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of assigned vehicles at all times.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Safety and Security Manager.
• Ensure that all vehicle documentation, licenses, insurance, and permits remain valid and available for inspection.
• Monitor fuel levels and coordinate vehicle servicing and maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, journeys, and vehicle maintenance activities.
• Ensure guest and hotel property are transported safely and securely.
• Assist in airport transfers, guest pickups, and drop-offs according to hotel schedules and operational requirements.
• Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information, hotel business activities, and management movements.
• Observe and report security, safety, or suspicious incidents encountered during transportation duties.
• Support emergency response activities as directed by hotel management.
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety and security procedures during all transportation activities.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities safely for yourself and others in the workplace.
• Assist other departments with transportation-related requirements where required.
• Maintain effective communication with the Front Office, Concierge, Security, and other operational departments.
• Ensure that all assigned driving assignments are completed in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold Hilton grooming standards at all times.

• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• A Driver serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. 

Requirements
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• High School graduate or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Nigerian Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a hotel, hospitality, corporate, or luxury service environment.
• Good knowledge of Lagos roads, routes, traffic regulations, and surrounding areas.
• Possess a valid medical fitness certificate.
• Strong commitment to safety, security, and defensive driving practices.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; additional local language skills will be an advantage.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism at all times.
• Able to remain calm and act appropriately in emergency situations.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
• Good personal grooming and presentation in accordance with Hilton standards.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to identify mechanical issues requiring attention.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
