Job title : Account Officier

Job Summary:

The Account Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, monitoring accounts, and supporting the organisation’s day to day accounting and financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other financial documents.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash records and other financial accounts.
• Assist with payroll preparation and other financial reports.
• Process payments and ensure proper documentation and approval of expenses.
• Monitor daily cash flow and maintain accurate cash records.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and assist with budget monitoring.
• Maintain organised records of financial documents for audit and compliance purposes.
• Liaise with vendors, customers, banks and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Ensure financial transactions comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Support the Finance Manager or Accountant with other accounting duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with financial information.
• Professional accounting certification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
