Job Description

We are seeking a competent and proactive Biomedical Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, and management of medical equipment to support the delivery of quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair medical equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults promptly.
Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
Ensure all medical equipment complies with safety and regulatory standards.
Liaise with equipment vendors for servicing and warranty issues.
Train clinical staff on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Support the procurement, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new medical equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

Minimum of 23 years' relevant experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Experience maintaining diagnostic, laboratory, theatre, ICU, and imaging equipment is an added advantage.

Other Requirements:

Professional certification or membership with a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of medical equipment safety standards.
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively under pressure.
Willingness to work beyond regular hours when required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent customer service orientation and a commitment to quality healthcare delivery.
