Job Title: Card Settlement Supervisor

Reports to: Team Lead Settlement Operations

Unit: EBanking Operations

Job Objective:

To supervise the settlement and reconciliation of all electronic channels transactions (local& international) in line with standard regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities:

1. Handle settlement transactions (local & international) within agreed timeline

2. Ensure card transactions are settled and passed to various accounts attached to each channel

3. Ensure POS merchants get value for transactions

4. Process of refund for chargebacks

5. Ensure the banks commission on all Collections are settled as appropriate

6. Distribute income accruing to branches from State Govt. collections DSTV PHCN and other allied paydiect products monthly

7. Review and verify all the pay direct products settled to the banks position Process reversals of international cards failed transactions.

8. Supervise the reconciliation of reports from switching companies against entries in core banking application so that accounts are balanced.

9. Review ledger entries and accounts to validate customer claims arising from card transactions as well as to determine the next line of action.

10. Supervise the reconciliation of all electronic (Card & Money transfers) settlement both locally and internationally within an agreed timeline.

11. Assist with carrying out first hand dispute resolution arising from transactions in line with standard regulatory requirements.

12. Liaise with Card Associations/ switching companies for effective reconciliation of transactions.

Requirements

The person fulfilling this function should have the ability to work in a steady thorough and deliberate manner and have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion. Confrontation and unrealistic timescales should not be an important aspect of the job. Ideally the person should be conventional cooperative cautious compliant organized predictable methodical and routineorientated. A questioning approach concentration on detail and a nonassertive nature are also being called for within the position. The Job Profile implies that the job will be somewhat analytical and demand a high level of quality control.

Educational qualification : First degree in a numerate discipline. Professional qualification e.g. (CISA) and training with Switching companies and Card Brands will be an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years experience comprising all card brand schemes.
