Urgent requirement for a Network Engineer in Nigeria on a 1 year contract for a major IT vendor.

Network Engineer to support an AVI and NSX-T environment running on VMware. This role will have the responsibility for understanding program mission requirements and supporting, deploying, and configuring impactful solutions to meet defined requirements. The engineer will also evaluate current environment configurations and make recommendations for improvement as relevant. This role involves evaluating new capabilities in a software defined data center (SDDC). Following instantiated change management procedures for all future enhancements, and production support of current and future AVI & NSX-T deployments

Responsibilities:

Provide expert support in VMware AVI Load Balancer & NSX-T technologies
Integrate VMware AVI & NSX-T software defined network with existing physical network infrastructure
Support integration with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated environment.
Create detailed system design and standard operating procedure documents for the NSX-T solution.
Provide Tier-3/4 operational support
Installation/Configuration/Management of NSX-T 3.x/4.x environment

Qualifications and Experience:

Advanced Network knowledge, skills and demonstrated experience in a complex network data center environment
Experience troubleshooting virtual connectivity and performance issues
Experience with replication technologies in a VMware environment - vSphere Replication,
Experience working with other VMware management applications Update Manager, Lifecycle Manager, Log Insight, vRealize Network Insight or equivalent
PowerCLI/PowerShell script or equivalent demonstrated experience
Minimally, VCA Data Center (and/or Cloud) certification
Demonstrated Linux System Administration skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience
More than 8 years' experience preferred in a large enterprise
Excellent understanding of Networking technologies, including security and monitoring aspects
Excellent understanding of VMware NSX-T, Application load balancing and automation concepts, experience with REST, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell will be an advantage
Proficiency in scripting and/or automating repeatable processes
CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued) – Advantage
Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
