Responsibilities

Receive, review, and verify supplier invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
Match invoices with purchase orders, delivery notes, and contracts.
Post invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely settlement of supplier payments.
Process payments through bank transfers, cheques, or electronic platforms as approved.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable ledgers.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies or disputes promptly.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and statutory requirements.
Deduct and account for applicable taxes (e.g., WHT, VAT) in line with regulations.
Maintain proper filing and documentation for audit and record-keeping purposes.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing of accounts.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documents and explanations.
Liaise with procurement, stores, and other departments to resolve payment issues.
Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with 25 years relevant experience in accounts payable or finance role
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
