The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University Library and the coordination of Library services in the University.
The candidate shall be visionary, have the ability to provide good leadership and commund respect and loyalty of staff of the University Library
He/She must also possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life.
The candidate must have great leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements for the Candidate

The Candidate must possess a good honors Degree in any discipline plus a Master Degree in Library Studies / Library and Information Science / Library Technology etc from a recognised University and are cognised professional qualification in Librarianship and possess at least ten years' post qualification experience in the library of one or more higher educational or research institution(s).
Possession of several scholarly publications, administrative experience, and ability to provide academic leadership is required.
Candidate must have served for NOT less than three (3) years at the level of Deputy Librarian or Associate Professor in a tertiary institution.
The candidate must be highly computer literate and proficient in the use of MS Office, and other computer applications as applicable to the running of a complex and modem University Library.
Membership of relevant professional association is mandatory. Possession of relevant Ph.D degree will be an added advantage.

Age Requirement for the Job:

Candidates for the position of University Librarian must be below the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty

Terms and Conditions of Service Applicable to the Position

Successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years on such conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment. The rensaneration and other conditions of service as applicable to the position are as may be determined from time to time by the State Government/Governing Council of the University.
