Medical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology

Job Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with quality control protocols, laboratory standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform microbiological testing on patient specimens, including culture, identification.
- Analyze, interpret, and accurately report test results, escalating critical findings where necessary.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring proper documentation.
- Conduct quality control procedures and participate in proficiency testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and storage in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment while minimizing wastage of consumables.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to provide timely diagnostic information.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality assurance requirements.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Valid practicing license
- Specialization or demonstrable experience in Microbiology is required.
