- SBM Intelligence is a leading geopolitical research and intelligence organisation providing data-driven insights, research, and analysis on critical issues across Nigeria and Africa.
- We are looking for a Junior Security Analyst to join our team and support our security and intelligence operations through monitoring, research, risk assessment, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security-related developments, incidents, and emerging threats across relevant locations and sectors.
- Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research using credible and publicly available sources.
- Support the identification and assessment of security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Track and analyse security incidents and emerging trends that may affect SBM Intelligence, its people, projects, and field operations.
- Prepare concise security briefs, incident reports, alerts, and situation updates for management and relevant teams.
- Support security risk assessments for field assignments, projects, and business activities.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of security incidents and relevant intelligence.
- Assist in monitoring security information from news platforms, social media, official sources, and other intelligence channels.
- Escalate significant security incidents or emerging threats promptly.
- Work closely with the Security, Research, Operationson security-related matters.
- Support the development and review of security procedures, risk mitigation measures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information and intelligence.
- Perform other security and research-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Criminology, International Relations, Political Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in security analysis, intelligence, risk analysis, research, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of current security and socio-political developments in Nigeria.
- Ability to gather information from multiple sources, verify information, identify patterns, and draw reasonable conclusions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and basic data analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally in the security and intelligence space.
Salary
N150,000 monthly.
