Cashier

Job Summary

• We are seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Cashier to manage patient payments and support efficient financial operations.
• The ideal candidate will ensure accurate transaction processing while delivering courteous and professional service to patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process payments for consultations, laboratory tests, procedures, medications, and other hospital services.
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
• Balance cash drawers and prepare daily cash reconciliation reports.
• Process payments through cash, POS terminals, bank transfers, and other approved payment channels.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support end-of-day and monthly reconciliations.
• Respond professionally to patient billing and payment enquiries.
• Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with the hospital's financial policies and internal controls.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a cashier or in a finance-related role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using hospital billing or accounting software is an added advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions efficiently.
