Laboratory Technician

Role Overview

Sacvin Nigeria Limited, a leading manufacturer of PVC pipes and fittings, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Technician to support quality assurance and quality control activities within the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests, monitoring product quality, ensuring compliance with established standards, and maintaining accurate records to guarantee that finished products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a sound understanding of laboratory procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.
• Monitor and document laboratory test results and maintain accurate records.
• Support investigations into product quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Assist in implementing quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
• Prepare laboratory reports and provide timely feedback on test outcomes.
• Participate in internal audits and quality management system activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3years' experience in a laboratory or quality control role within a manufacturing environment. Experience in PVC pipes, plastics, or polymer manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and laboratory testing procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report writing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
