Farm Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily farm operations and activities.
• Supervise farm workers and allocate duties appropriately to ensure productivity.
• Monitor crop production, livestock activities, or other farm operations, depending on the farm’s focus.
• Ensure proper planting, cultivation, harvesting, feeding, breeding, and general farm management practices are followed.
• Monitor the health and condition of crops, livestock, and farm facilities and promptly address issues.
• Manage the use and maintenance of farm equipment, tools, machinery, and other resources.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, production, labour, inventory, expenses, and supplies.
• Monitor farm expenses and ensure resources are used efficiently and responsibly.
• Purchase or coordinate the procurement of seeds, feeds, fertilizers, medications, tools, and other required farm inputs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable agricultural, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Identify and manage risks such as pests, diseases, poor weather conditions, and production losses.
• Coordinate harvesting, storage, and proper handling of farm produce or livestock products.
• Monitor production performance and provide regular reports to management.
• Implement measures to improve farm productivity, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
• Ensure the farm environment is clean, organised, and safe for workers and visitors.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by management.
