Job Summary
- We are seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Officer to support our environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
- This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or NYSC corps members with a background in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or related fields.
- The successful candidate will work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, conduct monitoring activities, and support environmental awareness across company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing environmental policies and procedures in line with local and international standards.
- Monitor environmental conditions (air, water, soil, waste) on-site and collect relevant data.
- Support waste management and pollution control activities.
- Participate in environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Raise awareness and support environmental training programs among staff.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and assist with reporting as required.
- Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications
- HND / BSc in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
- NYSC members or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
- Good communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is an advantage.
