Job Title: Sortex Operator Department: Production Industry: Agriculture Salary: #250,000 Job Purpose The Sortex Operator ensures accurate sorting o hulled sesame seeds using electronic color sorting machines, delivering high-quality output in compliance with food safety and quality standards. The role focuses on machine operation, product quality assurance, and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust Sortex machines for optimal seed sorting.
- Inspect sorted seeds for compliance with quality specifications (color, size, defects).
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of Sortex equipment.
- Record production and machine performance data accurately.
- Uphold GMP, HACCP, and safety standards in all operations.
- Conduct sanitation tasks and maintain hygienic work areas.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to operate and troubleshoot Sortex/electronic machines.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on color, size, and defect detection.
- Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and hygiene practices.
- Problem-Solving: Quick response to machine or quality issues.
- Teamwork & Communication: Effective collaboration with supervisors and colleagues.
- Physical Stamina & Vision: Capacity for long shifts, moderate lifting, and strong visual acuity (color/depth perception).
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to production changes and shift schedules.
- Record Keeping: Accuracy in documenting production and machine data.
