We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Associate with 0–2 years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in legal practice, excellent analytical and drafting skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and advisory notes.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Manage litigation matters, including preparing court processes, filing court documents, and attending court proceedings where required.
- Advise clients on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and general legal matters.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Support corporate transactions, due diligence exercises, and company secretarial matters.
- Ensure clients' compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate case files, legal documentation, and matter progress reports.
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates to develop practical legal solutions for clients.
- Stay abreast of changes in legislation, regulations, and relevant legal precedents.
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. qualifications with membership of the Nigerian Bar.
- 0–2 years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm.
- Practical experience in litigation, corporate, and/or commercial legal practice.
- Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
