School Bus Assistant

Job Description

• We are looking for a responsible, caring, and reliable Female School Bus Assistant to sit with and monitor students during school bus trips.
• The primary responsibility is to ensure the safety, comfort, and discipline of all children on board, from pick-up in the morning to drop-off after school.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Safety & Supervision: Sit with students and monitor behavior throughout the journey to ensure order and safety.
• Pick-up & Drop-off: Assist children in boarding and alighting the bus safely. Ensure each child is handed over to the correct parent/guardian at their designated stop.
• Attendance & Headcount: Take attendance before departure and after arrival. Report any absent student to the school office.
• Student Care: Comfort younger children, help with seatbelts, bags, and ensure they remain seated during transit.
• Communication: Be the link between parents, the bus driver, and the school. Report any incidents, delays, or concerns immediately.
• Discipline: Enforce bus rules in a calm and respectful manner. Address bullying or unsafe behavior.
• Emergency Support: Assist the driver in case of emergencies and follow all school safety protocols.
• Cleanliness: Ensure the bus interior is kept tidy and report any damage.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of SSCE / OND. First aid knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience: Prior experience working with children in a school, daycare, or caregiving role is preferred.
• Gender: Female.

Personal Qualities:

• Patient, warm, and good with children ages 3-16
• Honest, reliable, and punctual
• Good communication skills and a calm temperament
• Physically fit to assist children in and out of the bus
• Other: Must pass background check. Residence within Bénin City is an advantage.

Working Hours:

• Monday Friday. Morning and afternoon school runs.

Salary

• N80,000 / month.
