Maintenance Engineer

Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our start-up leadership team and oversee the maintenance and reliability of our manufacturing equipment and utilities.
- The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes to ensure maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, and minimal production downtime.
- The role also involves supporting factory commissioning, supervising maintenance personnel, and ensuring all engineering systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Supervise the maintenance of water treatment systems, bottling lines, sachet water machines, bakery equipment, snack production equipment, packaging machines, generators, compressors, and other production machinery.
- Lead equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Ensure maximum machine uptime and operational efficiency.
- Supervise Mechanical and Electrical Technicians and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Develop maintenance schedules and monitor equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support NAFDAC inspections and ensure engineering systems meet regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- COREN registration or other relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in engineering and maintenance within the food, beverage, FMCG, water bottling, bakery, or manufacturing industry.
- Practical experience in factory commissioning and installation of manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, industrial utilities, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and production equipment.
- Ability to diagnose equipment faults and implement effective maintenance solutions.
- Excellent leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Salary
N1,800,000 annually.
