Remote Accountant

Job Purpose

• The Remote Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, transactions, reporting, reconciliations, and financial documentation while working remotely.
• The role ensures accurate financial information, proper record-keeping, and compliance with applicable financial policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Record daily income, expenses, purchases, sales, and other transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare invoices, payment schedules, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Track company expenses and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
• Monitor cash flow and provide regular financial updates to management.
• Assist with payroll preparation and staff payment records.
• Prepare budgets and compare actual expenses against budgets.
• Assist with tax calculations, filings, audits, and other statutory requirements.
• Identify financial discrepancies and investigate errors.
• Maintain confidential financial information and documents.
• Provide management with financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Work closely with management and other departments through email, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
• Use accounting software and digital tools to manage financial records remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience working remotely is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Benefits
Salary: N70,000 - N80,000 per month.
