  • Conduct regular floor inspections to maintain cleanliness of seating areas, counters, restrooms, and outdoor spaces, and ensure music, lighting, temperature, and ambience meet Café Chavela standards.
  1. Procurement, Inventory, POS & Cash Management
  • Monitor front-of-house consumables — including takeaway packaging, napkins, straws, cups, cutlery, condiment containers, tissues, and cleaning supplies — and procure replacement stock in a timely manner.
  • Maintain minimum stock levels, report supply issues promptly, and ensure operational items are stored safely and organised.
  • Ensure all menu items, pricing, modifiers, and promotions are accurately reflected in the Point of Sale (POS) system, updating it immediately whenever changes occur.
  • Verify that cash registers and payment terminals are functioning correctly before opening.
  • Supervise cashiers, ensure cash handling procedures are followed, assist with daily cash reconciliation and shift reporting, and report discrepancies immediately.
  1. Utilities & Facilities Management
  • Electricity: Monitor the café’s ECG prepaid electricity balance weekly, ensure it never falls below GHS 500, and arrange timely top-ups to prevent service interruptions.
  • Gas Management: Monitor LPG usage across all four gas cylinders, ensure supply never falls below one full 54kg cylinder, and arrange timely refilling for uninterrupted kitchen operations.
  • Internet & WiFi: Ensure the café’s WiFi subscription is prepaid and renewed monthly, monitor connectivity, and promptly report and follow up on outages, informing the General Manager of any prolonged disruptions.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, report accidents, incidents, and equipment faults immediately, coordinate repairs (electrical, plumbing, furniture, and other building needs), and follow up until resolved.
