IT Specialist

Role Overview

  • The IT Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, devices, user support, data security, and technology operations across all group entitie
  • The role requires a technically skilled, proactive, and service-oriented professional who can ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage staff email accounts, access credentials, and system permissions.
  • Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, access provisioning, and deactivation.
  • Conduct new-hire IT orientation and systems training.
  • Configure and set up laptops, phones, and other IT devices for staff.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to staff across all group entities.
  • Install, update, and manage licensed software and business systems.
  • Ensure software licensing, system updates, patches, and version control are properly maintained.
  • Conduct monthly system audits across staff devices for security, compliance, and usage.
  • Maintain an accurate IT gadget and asset inventory, including assignment, condition, and location.
  • Track the full device lifecycle, including allocation, maintenance, retirement, and disposal.
  • Coordinate the procurement of IT hardware, software, accessories, and consumables.
  • Manage IT vendors and service providers, including SLAs, renewals, escalations, and performance.
  • Manage internet connectivity and network infrastructure across office locations.
  • Monitor network performance, uptime, routers, servers, and related infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor data protection measures in line with NDPA and company policies.
  • Manage data backup schedules and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor, identify, and respond to IT security incidents and potential breaches.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies covering acceptable use, data protection, access control, and related areas.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, including asset registers, access logs, audit records, and incident reports.

  • System uptime and network availability.
  • Average IT ticket resolution time.
  • Monthly system audit completion rate.
  • New-hire IT onboarding turnaround time.
  • IT asset inventory accuracy.
  • Software and licensing compliance.
  • Data security and backup compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in IT support, IT administration, or a similar role. Experience in a multi-site or corporate environment is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of networking, including LAN/WAN, routers, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Mac OS and Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Understanding of data protection principles and NDPA compliance.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, ITIL, or MCSA will be an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong vendor coordination and service management skills.
  • High level of discretion when handling sensitive data, user credentials, and system access.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple technical requests, and provide excellent internal customer service.
