BSS Engineer

Job Summary

• The BSS Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, integration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of BSS and transmission network equipment, ensuring high network availability, prompt fault resolution, infrastructure readiness, and adherence to operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain Huawei eNodeB 3900 series equipment while performing routine health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Install, commission, configure, and maintain Huawei RTN 910, RTN 905, RTN 950, and RTN 950A microwave transmission systems.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and clearance on microwave links, monitoring transmission performance to maintain link availability.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams on site-related issues, upgrades, power, transmission, and infrastructure readiness.
• Monitor BSS and transmission nodes to maintain network uptime and respond promptly to network outages and service-impacting incidents.
• Monitor and analyse alarms on eNodeB and microwave systems, clearing faults within operational timelines and escalating complex issues appropriately.
• Lead and coordinate riggers and field technical personnel during site operations, ensuring work quality and strict safety compliance.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports covering network performance, outages, alarms, maintenance activities, and equipment status.
• Ensure all technical activities comply with operational policies, regulatory requirements, and health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Essential experience:

• Minimum of two years of directly relevant BSS & Transmission Engineering experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of Huawei BSS and eNodeB systems.
• Hands-on experience with Huawei RTN microwave transmission equipment.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, fault-isolation, and network alarm clearance capabilities.
• Understanding of GSM, UMTS, and LTE network technologies.
• Experience coordinating field teams and riggers during site activities.

Preferred experience:

• Practical experience with Huawei eNodeB 3900 and RTN series equipment.
• Relevant professional certifications in telecommunications or networking.

Salary
N300,000 monthly.
